Thank you for the comment, Dilip! Actually, I never thought about it that way. Since I left the Furry fandom, I've often contemplated just killing the Furry label, but the Furries who /aren't/ Christian will not be very open to the concept. Dad suggested a rebranding of the interest and/or artwork, but, well... honestly, what happens depends totally on God's will. I have little to no idea what He's planning. We'll just have to wait and see! :)

Also, if you'd like to chat more, just hit me up on Skype, MSN, or AIM. I'm most likely to answer at my Skype address, but please try the others, too.

Thanks Dillon for a well-written, illuminating piece. You made me aware of a world of which I had been completely unaware. I am still struggling to wrap my mind around the concept of Christian "Furries". I suppose part of my difficulty is the notion of Christian as an adjective. I guess I have taken to thinking of Christian as a noun, i.e. as our identity. Do we need another identity apart from Christ? Why would the movement be about BEING a furry who is a Christian? Is that different from Christians DOING furry art? Would love to chat more...

I like this! Post-It notes can be put where we will see them most often. As far as "trading our dreams for His," I have to remind myself that interruptions are things that are God's will for my day. Playing a game with a child or helping a neighbor through a difficult time should sometimes go to the top of my list, even when not planned for the day. But I still need a plan. Thanks!

Dilip, I'm not sure if you're referring to a specific type of "cyber community" like Facebook or gaming. However, if you are having trouble with spending too much time on some of these things, then they should either limit their time or totally stop doing them. I found this to be true when I used to play an online game called RuneScape a lot. I played way too much, and then I realized that it was eating up my whole life, so I simply stopped. To be more specific, I blocked the site from my computer so I couldn't even get to it.

Thanks, Ben. As someone who is relatively ignorant of all the wonderful resources that God has enabled to blossom on the internet, I appreciated this post.

What advice or insight do you have regarding how to keep from being so taken with "cyber community" that we detach ourselves from the community in which God has placed us physically?
